Kolb Elementary is located in BAY CITY, MICHIGAN.  We offer a pre-kindergarten through 5th-grade instructional program and enroll an average of 475 resident and choice students each year. Kolb Elementary offers Special Education programming and is also the host school for the Bay City Public School's "Magnet" Gifted and Talented program.

Our school is a partnership of staff, students, and the community.  We are committed to providing your child with a safe and purposeful learning environment.  Students learn in a variety of ways and our experienced staff works under the belief that all students possess unique gifts and talents which need to be developed and enriched. Our goal is to help every child reach his or her academic and social-emotional potential using the best educational practices possible.

There are numerous opportunities for parents and the community to be involved at Kolb, including a very active Parent Volunteer Association. Our PVA contributes to the educational programs and helps to create a sense of family that all Kolb students, staff and parents enjoy.

About Adam Kolb
Adam Kolb

Adam Kolb was a native of Salzburg, now the seventh ward of Bay City. He was born January 15, 1867. He received his education in the Bay City Schools, and graduated from the high school in 1885.

He formed a co-partnership with his brother, George, and bought the brewery of Morris Westover, which they rebuilt into the Kolb Brewery. He was a member of the water works board before the consolidation of the cities (East & West) and also of the board of education.

One of his most notable acts was the donation of about twenty acres to the Bay City Schools on the West side of the Saginaw River, and it was to be used by the students of Bay City for a School (Kolb Elementary) and an athletic field.
